Health Benifits of the Ingredience We Use...

The health benefits of the ingredients we use in our cookies and dehydrated treats and why we choose to use them...
There is a health benifit to almost every ingreadient we use in our cookies and dehydrated treats. They are always made to be non fattening to the dogs. From the Olive oil for their skin and coat, to the fiber in the flour, and the truly free range eggs straight from my friends farm, and everything in between, pumpkin, olive oils, cinnamon, honey carrots etc, they all contain healthy reasons why your dog should have a cookie.

Liver...
Liver is a nutrient-rich organ meat, providing your dog with protein, fat and vitamin A. Liver is also a good source of copper, iron, niacin, phosphorus and zinc. It provides many B vitamins, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and essential amino acids your dog needs from his diet to keep him healthy.

Eggs...

I should mention ours are from our friends beautiful farm and are from truly free range chickens. So Yummy!!
One egg has 13 essential nutrients in varying amounts including high quality protein, folate, iron and zinc. Eggs are a great source of very digestible protein, riboflavin, and selenium. For some dogs that are prone to digestive upset, eggs can give them a little protein boost. The protein in eggs is really good for your pet’s hair, skin and nails and actually higher quality than that of meat, poultry or fish, and is the most easily digested protein source.

Bananas...
Banana's are a tropical fruit that contains a lot of antioxidants that aids in the promotion of good condition of the skin and fur. These antioxidants prevent degeneration of the body and inhibit the development of old age related diseases. High in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system and vitamin B6 that regulates blood glucose levels. Bannas conntain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. Bananas also contain Potassium a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain, and regulates the body’s water balance. potassium also assists in learning and training by making dogs more alert. Being extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, reduces blood pressure. Bananas are also Natural antacid. They are high in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood this helps in cases of anemia. Being high in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action and keep their insides healthy. When compared it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals and is extreamly rich in potassium making it one of the best value foods around.

Honey...
Honey is a natural Antibacterial. The live enzymes in raw honey kill off harmful microbes and bacteria. Raw honey can also be used topically to care for a wound or it can be ingested to help curb an infection. Feeding raw honey to dogs keeps them healthier and more capable of fighting off illness. Honey can be used to treat local pollen allergies and other airborne irritants. Honey is a natural, healthy way to increase your dog's activity level, providing your dog with sugars naturally that its body can break down gradually. Honey aids in better digestion for dogs. Raw honey has been pre-digested by bees, so it contains live enzymes. These live enzymes will help the dog digest its food. Honey discourages the growth of unhealthy bacteria in the digestive tract and eradicates toxins. Another reason honey for dogs is a good idea.

Olive Oil...
Contains omega 3's, this can heal skin conditions, and protect your pet's eyesight. Research at the University of California shows omega 3 fatty acids slows down the aging of the DNA. Try adding a few drops or so of olive oil over your pet's food daily. You can also add a few drops of olive oil to their water. For dry skin spots massage olive oil directly onto your dog’s skin once a day. Olive oil can also be used to treat constipation.

Cinnamon...
Cinnamon is a natural preservative when used in doggy treats. It is also used as a medicine for the treatment of cough, sore throat and stomach upsets. The Cinnamon is a antifungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial. Recent studies have proven the ability of cinnamon to help regulate blood sugar levels of canines suffering from diabetes. Cinnamon is a natural treatment for diabetes as its insulin-like properties lowers the triglyceride and cholesterol level. Cinnamon has a blood thinning compound and anti-inflammatory properties that allows the proper circulation of blood to all the cells of the body, significantly reducing the pain of arthritic dogs. Cinnamon has a carminative agent that relieves indigestion,  bloat and stomach upset. This aromatic spice cleanses the parasites, the fungus, bacteria and other microorganisms from the stomach and intestines, allowing the body to better process and absorb nutrients improving digestion and breaking up intestinal gas.

Pumpkin...

Pumpkin is a good source of fibre and beta carotene a source of vitamin A. Vets recommend canned pumpkin for weight loss in dogs. Because it is high in fiber, canned pumpkin will make your dog fuller than it would if you just reduced their caloric intake. Pumpkin is used to treat "Normal" cases of diarrhea, pumpkins are naturally very rich in fiber and even adding two Teaspoons of fresh or canned pumpkin(not pie filling!) in you dog’s food helps the digestion process. Pumpkin has a large quantity of dietary fiber and it will also absorb the excess water present in the stool. This makes your dog’s stool more firm and results can be seen within a few hours. Pumpkin is also used to treat dogs for constipation. It softens your dog’s stool and can cure an upset stomach very quickly. Yes it does both what an amazing food! A bit of pumpkin also cures indigestion. Also pumpkin tastes great going in but not coming out, preventing that "nasty habit".

Cranberries...
The addition of cranberries to your dog’s diet also has several benefits. Cranberries are rich in vitamins including A, B1, B2, C, and many nutrients. They are full of minerals and antioxidants. rich in flavonoids. These phytonutrients have been shown to inhibit certain kinds of cancer. Cranberries are an excellent supplement to your dog’s diet for the promotion of urinary tract health because it inhibits E. coli bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract wall. If your dog is stressed, cranberries can help by inhibiting ulcer-causing bacteria from sticking to the stomach wall. Cranberries are an anti-aging tool. They help protect against neurodegenerative diseases, and the coordination loss often associated with an aging dog.

Apples...

Apples are wonderful crunchy treats for your dog and keep their skin and coat health by adding omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Apples with the skin on are full of plant chemicals (phytonutrients) that are thought to be protective against some types of cancer. They are a source of vitamins A and C, calcium and phosphorus, fibre and low in sodium and saturated fat.

Carrots...

Carrots help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer. They are an excellent source of antioxidants compounds and phytonutrients, which are thought to help protect the heart and reduce the risk of cancer. They are the richest source of beta-carotene, a precursor to Vitamin A, which is essential for good vision, especially night vision, they also help provide protection against macular degeneration and the development of cataracts. Gives your dog richer darker coat pigment. Carrots stop dog diarrhea, Contain distilled oils to help fight worms, Support the immune system and improve health. Carrots also improve the skin and coat, and acts as an antioxidant. They contain iron and improve the metabolism of the liver and thyroid. Carrots are rich in vitamins and minerals and fiber, helps maintain gastrointestinal health and prevent disease. Carrots can help dogs lose weight and have sparkling clean teeth, when carrots are a regular part of their diet.

Sweet potatoes...
Sweet potatoes offer impressive amounts of antioxidants like beta-carotene, vitamin-c, iron, phosphorus, vitamin-b complex & iron. These are are all immune system boosters and help with arthritis/inflammation. The beta-carotene helps the body fight against free radicals, thus helping prevent cancer. Sweet potatoes are high in dietary fiber and have magnesium in them which makes them easy on the digestion system. Also helping expel heavy metals and worms. One of their best health benefits is the calcium level that helps strengthen dogs' bones and teeth.

Oatmeal/Oats...
Oatmeal is a good source of soluble fibre and low-saturated fat. This can be beneficial for some older dogs that may have trouble maintaining bowel regularity. Oats are a great source of dietary fiber. They have a high Vitamin B1 content, which is required by the body for carbohydrate metabolism. Oats contain a higher concentration of protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, thiamin, folacin and Vitamin E than any other unfortified whole grain. Oats contain one of the best amino acid profiles of all grains. Amino acids are essential proteins that help facilitate optimum functioning of the body. The lipids present in oats contain a good balance of essential fatty acids, which has been linked with longevity and general good health.

Whole Wheat Flour...
Whole Wheat Flour is a powdery substance derived by grinding or mashing the wheat's whole grain. It is used in baking but typically added to other "white" flours to provide nutrients especially fiber and protein, texture, and body to the finished product.

Peanut Butter...

Peanut butter is loaded with antioxidants our pets use oxygen to burn energy in their cells. Oxygen actually happens to be quite corrosive and so this process of oxidation is actually quite damaging to cells. Antioxidants prevent further oxidation and clean up the pre-existing oxidation within our cells. Without this damage cells function so much better. Peanut Butter is naturally high in folate; a form of vitamin B. Folic acid lowers the risk of heart disease. It is also a vegetarian source of protein. A peanut butter dog treat can help a dog’s health and their breath as well. Peanut butter has an incredible ability to reduce bad doggy breath. The peanut oil has the ability to coat the smell produced by the bacteria. The molecules that make up the smell are coated by the oil, helping them to pass through the dog’s body rather than on its breath. The Peanut oil contains omega fatty-acids, omega fatty-acids actually help the body to reduce bad cholesterol. It’s important to kick cholesterol, it builds up in your bloodstream and can cause blockages which lead to heart attacks and strokes, causing permanent damage and even death.
